My dad is the family bartender

He mixes all the drinks for us at gatherings; I think he likes that his assumed role is to provide the libations. And, as a retired engineer and still full-time type A personality, he follows drink recipes to a T. This is one of the only cocktails he has tweaked a little - probably when he was feeling extra crazy :) When we gather at my house - like we usually do - he will bring a mason jar full of pre-mixed French martinis for us girls to enjoy.

the recipe

[makes two French martinis]

Ingredients

  1. Vodka (we prefer Tito's)
  2. Pineapple juice (we like the canned Dole pineapple juice as opposed to fresh)
  3. Chambord
  4. ice

Instructions

  1. Fill a shaker with ice.
  2. Add: 1/2 cup vodka, 1/2 cup pineapple juice, generous splash of Chambord.
  3. Shake vigorously - pour into martini glasses. Cheers!

*If you want to do this "Ron style", pre-mix the first three ingredients and take along with you wherever you're going that requires fancy martinis :)
