Me circa 1989 stuffing the Thanksgiving turkey. It's a miracle we didn't all end up with Salmonella.
Things you should know
I'm not a professional chef. I don't see that happening in my future either. I don't make my own recipes (for the most part) and I honestly get most recipes from websites. BUT I do have some family recipes, the tried-and-true, passed down from grandmas and moms who got it from that lady down the street who volunteers at church luncheons...kind of recipes. Yes, their absolute origin may be from a 1970's cookbook or the back of the Nestle Chocolate Chips bag (anybody remember that Friends episode?) but at this point, they're family recipes to me. They each have a story and make me feel connected to my mom, sister, aunties, grandmas, aunts and neighbor ladies I grew up near.
I'm also going to share actual recipes (typically Pioneer Woman, Barefoot Contessa, and Magnolia Table) that are our family's favorite dishes, because if we love them then you may too!
I may not have pictures for every single recipe I share - it's currently January and I'm still sticking to my New Years resolution diet and I just don't have the willpower to make all my yummy faves simply for pictures and not for eating. Again, I'm not a professional chef or baker who is making a cookbook. Consider this like an emailed recipe from a good friend :)
Also - I PROMISE I won't make you read [scroll] through paragraphs and paragraphs to get to the recipe. I'll tell you where the recipe comes from and that's it. Scouts honor!
The typical spread at my annual School Moms Wine Tasting Party. Top 10 nights of the year, maybe top 5!
