in my fridge:
apples
Honeycrisp apples, to be specific. Apparently my children have a discerning taste when it comes to apples because they seem to have a problem with every kind of apple except for these! We always have a drawer full of apples in the fridge because they last a long time and are easy to grab one and eat or cut up as a lunch side dish.
babybel cheese
Better known as "circle cheese" in our house. Babybels are a quick and easy snack that my littles enjoy eating as much as they enjoy opening. And because I can get a big bag of them at Costco, we never seem to run out.
danimals
OK so while I try to do as much locally made, organic, sugar/dye free foods as possible, these are a "guilty pleasure" in my snack stock. My kids love every single flavor and the Disney characters on the bottles keep them wanting more. And omigod they're just so easy to hand out.
baby carrots
This is Quinn's favorite snack, hands down. He would happily take a baggie of baby carrots in his lunch every single day. And I'll happily continue to pack baby carrots in his lunch box every single day, too. Sometimes they'll eat them with Ranch, but most times they just want a few carrots in a bowl.
in my pantry:
fig bars
So Fig Bar is the name of bar; but they make other flavors than just fig (blueberry + raspberry). That being said, the figs are the preferred flavor in our house. They're soft and chewy, full of flavor, and just seem to have a little more substance than a typical nutrigrain bar.
gogo squeezes
YES! One of the best inventions for the modern mama. It took several tries to figure out which brand + flavor all three of my kiddos would happily consume. Our winner? Gogo squeeze apple cinnamon. It's really truly just cinnamon applesauce BUT it's in a pouch and can be thrown in my purse for an emergency snack on the go. Enough said.
goldfish bags
For children who like something that's all their own, individual goldfish bags are it! We always have regular cheddar fish stocked in our house, and will typically also have another variety (pretzel fish, rainbow fish, etc.)
walnuts
Quinn LOVES walnuts. I will get a big bag of these from Trader Joe's (the best price I can find) and keep them in the pantry. I put a few on top of a bowl of oatmeal, chop them up for banana bread, or just serve them in a little bowl.
power crunches
These are a new fave in our household. They're not the cheapest thing in our home, so I've been trying to limit these to just Quinn's school snack. I'm always trying to protein load him for his school days, but he hates the texture of normal (chewy) bars. So far he has loved every single flavor of these crunches.
granola bars
Quinn isn't a huge fan but the littles LOVE traditional granola bars. Our favorite is the Quaker Chewy Dipps, because they're chocolate coated. I just tell myself that, like people, it's what's on the inside that counts, amiright?
banana chips
Another Trader Joe's staple for us! I get a big bag of dried banana chips every time I go there; these (just like walnuts) are great in oatmeal, in banana bread, or just on their own.
cashews
Cashews used to be a decadent little snack when I was growing up, and I think I still feel that way about them. Luckily, Costco exists now and I can buy a whole tub of them for a pretty decent price.
